PRACTICE EXPERIENCE:
Paul Myrick graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Business Administration and the University of Alabama School of Law. He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. Mr. Myrick has practiced law in Mobile, Alabama since 1977, representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including:
• Representing private and public employers in individual and class action lawsuits involving claims under virtually all state and federal laws.
• Representing employers before state and federal agencies, including the EEOC, the OFCCP, the NLRB, and the DOL Wage-Hour Administration.
• Representing employers in all aspects of management-union relations, including: union election campaigns; collective bargaining negotiations; arbitration of grievances; preparation of strike contingency plans; and participation in strike-related litigation (e.g., obtaining injunctions for strike-related violence and injunctions for strikes in violation of collective bargaining agreements).
• Reviewing and preparing employment policies and procedures, employee handbooks, employment contracts, arbitration agreements, non-compete agreements and trade secret agreements, and affirmative action plans for U. S. Government contractors.
• Counseling and training employers in all aspects of labor and employment law to help avoid claims arising from day-to-day employment decisions; counseling employers on labor and employment issues related to significant decisions such as reductions in force, plant closings, and the sale and acquisition, or merger of a business.
Mr. Myrick is an elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has been recognized in consecutive editions of Best Lawyers in America in the area of labor and employment (management) law since 1991. He is a member and past chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Alabama State Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section, and the Section’s EEO subcommittee. Mr. Myrick is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
