In his nationwide employment and labor law practice, Bryan Bowdler focuses on defending employers in wage-and-hour litigation. Admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the U.S Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Bryan has handled cases in many states, from Alaska to New Hampshire.

As organizations grapple with the large recent uptick in wage-and-hour disputes, Bryan gives them straightforward, practical advice by laying out available paths forward and clear explanations of how they relate to their business models. Knowing the potential implications of a litigation victory or defeat helps employers decide whether a dispute is worth “going to the mats” for or whether it makes sense to pursue an early, cost-effective settlement.

In addition, Bryan helps employers bring their pay practices into compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, many of which are constantly changing. This type of preventative counsel enables clients to avoid big-ticket and devastatingly expensive lawsuits.

Out of law school Bryan honed his advocacy skills as a law clerk for the Hon. Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. When he first moved into private practice, Bryan worked on bankruptcies, financial restructurings, and securities offerings at a large, general-practice New York City firm. He then handled commercial litigation cases at a large, multi-state firm. These rich and varied experiences gave Bryan valuable insights into the perspectives and concerns of his current clients.
