Robert P. Lombardi
Mr. Lombardi is a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey School of Law with numerous academic excellence awards including Labor Relations, Civil Rights, and ADR Negotiations.
Following service in the U.S. Army, where he served as a program manager and analyst for the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization, Mr. Lombardi assumed responsibilities as a corporate human resource manager for a national retail chain. His responsibilities included managing employment law litigation, personnel policy development, investigating and responding to employee complaints, advising management on a wide variety of employment and wage and hour issues, and conducting training for supervisors.
Mr. Lombardi joined the firm in 1999 and is active in all aspects of the firm’s practice. Mr. Lombardi has defended numerous individual, class, and collective wage and hour actions brought under the FLSA, PAGA, and state wage and hour laws, including successful bench and jury trials and decertification motions. He also has an active appellate practice that includes appeals, writs, and amicus briefs. Mr. Lombardi provides advice to management, training, seminars, and he provides comments on proposed regulations.
Mr. Lombardi’s personal achievements include past president of the Greater Memphis and Shelby County Equal Opportunity Counsel, past Memphis State University chapter president of the Lions Club International and Outstanding Lion of the Year.
